Indulge in a World-Class Stay at Raffles Doha

Nestled in one-half of the iconic crescent-shaped Katara Towers, Raffles unveiled its newest gem in the vibrant city of Doha, Qatar, just before the World Cup 2022. The hotel emanates an enchanting and sophisticated ambiance, thanks to the masterful touch of renowned designer Marcel Wanders. Breaking away from convention and making waves, this latest addition to Raffles’ esteemed luxury portfolio is set to redefine hospitality in the region.

From the moment our group stepped off the plane, Raffles’ commitment to exceptional service was evident. A friendly employee warmly greeted us at the airport, whisking us through the immaculate Al Maha lounge for quite possibly the most effortless entry to a country I’ve ever experienced. We were then escorted to the hotel in the hotel’s fleet of sand-colored Bentleys, where we discovered handwritten notes and water inside the lushly appointed cars.

Upon arrival at the hotel, personalized attention awaited our group. We were welcomed by name and served a refreshing mocktail crafted with rose cordial, fresh pomegranate juice, and hibiscus essence (delicious!). Stepping into the soaring lobby, a kaleidoscopic atrium greeted us, projecting mesmerizing images of blue skies, clouds, and starry scenes onto mirrored walls, creating an immersive experience day and night.

The seamless check-in process immediately struck me, which took place directly in my suite. By eliminating the traditional check-in desk, the lobby remained pristine, uncluttered, and uncrowded—a refreshing departure from the normal process.

Raffles Doha boasts 132 spacious rooms, each suite spanning over 700 square feet—exceeding the already generous standards of luxury in the Middle East. Guests can choose from various suites to suit their specific style, some with unique features such as a mini-cinema, beauty salon, cigar room, barber corner, indoor pool, games room, hammam, and a hair salon. While most suites cater to couples, arrangements can be made for families or those traveling with children.

The suites were a testament to luxury and attention to detail, with exquisite bed linen boasting high thread counts, heated toilet seats, and towel-warming stands. Toiletries were elegantly presented in full-sized refillable ceramic containers featuring the enchanting scent of Frédéric Malle’s Cologne Indélible.

Every aspect of my experience was carefully curated, from a room key branded with my initials to a mini-bar that felt like a separate room. As my bags were swiftly delivered to my suite, I was introduced to one of my two private butlers, Salah, looking impeccable in one of the immaculately designed uniforms (created specifically for the property). The team is available at the touch of a button or through WhatsApp, providing uninterrupted service throughout my stay.

Walking around the suite, I admire the unparalleled sea views from the spacious terrace and the elegant living area while delighting in the unmistakable artistry and timeless glamor. There are in-suite tablets to personalize my surroundings and a digital scent device to mix aromas according to my mood. Furthermore, I see texture everywhere, including in the bed’s rich textiles, intricate wall carvings, soft wood and lush carpets. At my dining table (with plenty of room for four), I can enjoy refreshments delivered directly from the hotel’s gourmet restaurants or the in-room dining menu.

Although I don’t want to leave my suite’s utter comfort and privacy, the hotel has additional places to explore. On the ground floor, I step into the Raffles Spa Doha and am immediately transported to another world. The air is filled with the scent of essential oils, and gentle music washes over me. I feel my stress melting away as I walk through the spa’s tranquil interior. There’s also a gym completely fit out with modern equipment. While the space is smaller and without natural light, guests can visit the massive gym space on the fifth floor of the connected Fairmont, should they choose to do so. And for those seeking expansive swimming options, the 180-foot infinity pool of the Raffles beckoned, providing ample room to unwind.

Nestled within the hotel’s premises, we are surrounded by enticing food and beverage outlets. Among the selection, the renowned Alba by Enrico Crippa offers a gastronomic experience that tantalizes the taste buds with its exquisite culinary creations. The sophisticated Blue Cigar lounge beckons for those seeking a refined ambiance paired with a love for cigars. Step into this elegant sanctuary and be captivated by the enchanting sight of 6,500 vintage books adorning the walls, creating a bibliophile’s paradise. Within the depths of Blue Cigar lies a hidden gem—an exclusive cigar room where aficionados can retreat for a moment of indulgence. Additionally, guests can relish in the culinary artistry of L’Artisan, savor the exotic flavors of Malaki, or enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Acoustic. Moreover, the adjacent Fairmont Hotel boasts a range of other exceptional venues just a short stroll away, easily accessible by foot or a leisurely ride on a golf buggy. Furthermore, for those desiring a private dining experience, the convenience of in-room dining is available 24 hours a day, allowing guests to savor delectable dishes in the comfort and privacy of their own quarters.

Overall, Raffles Doha is a luxurious destination, and its chic suites, stunning views, and hospitality make it worth the stay. Synonymous with ultra-luxury, the legendary Raffles brand is reimagined.
