Paco Rabanne FW16

Dazzles again!

Julien Dossena continues to shed light on the heritage of the Paco Rabanne brand with a modernized contemporary vision. Years of apprenticeship as an assistant to Nicolas Ghesquière have paid off, not to mention his undisputed talent in interpreting tradition in an unusual unique way thus finding an innovative path to give a new luster to this historic brand. This season we see knitwear with a mix of ribs and techno jersey, a sophisticated take on a classic sweater, and anatomical tailoring highlighting the body, comfortable yet sharp. Fur mixed with techno knitwear because comfort is the new luxury, according to Dossena. Apron tops of nylon and silk paired over selvage denim with zipped pockets and exposed seams, black satin with flame patches mismatched with flower prints and lingerie details, red, black or printed liquid draped metal mesh dresses twisted with floral prints and silk. After all at Rabanne’s, the future has always been here and now. This season was no different as Dossena’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection was all about sharp and sophisticated looks styled in an out-of-space way. Standout pieces include a range of duvet skirts, as well as metal mesh and silk dresses adorned with flower prints. Every piece has a story to tell and a place to go…
