Marcus J. Moore, Bandcamp senior editor and Pitchfork music journalist, announced via Twitter that he had already signed a deal with Touchstone Books to write a “cultural biography” about Kendrick Lamar titled The Butterfly Effect: How Kendrick Lamar Ignited the Soul of Black America.

Speaking to Pigeons & Planes about the concept behind the book, Moore said that “(It) details the artist’s coming of age as an MC, how he helped resurrect two languishing genres (bebop and jazz), his profound impact on a racially fraught America, and his emergence and the bonafide King of Rap.”
