Gucci‘s new travel app, Gucci Places, shares with users all the places the brand has been – or at least the locations that have inspired their collections since Gucci was founded by Guccio Gucci in Florence back in 1921.
According to WWD the “idea (of the app) is to build a community and to encourage discovery of interesting details about the places. Each Gucci Place will have its own dedicated badge and incorporate motifs that suggest the specific location. The first Gucci Place to be unveiled will be Chatsworth in Derbyshire England, where Gucci is now supporting an exhibition of clothing and memorabilia,” and where the Gucci Cruise 2017 campaign was photographed.
The app will also have a function to involve customers in the story of a Gucci Place – immersing them in the rich history of the brand. Plus it will work with your phone’s geolocation services to alert you if a Gucci Place is close by so you can check it out.
The Gucci Places app is due to launch in September
