A sustainable stay in Hatta.

Located amidst the rugged mountains of the eastern United Arab Emirates, the JA Hatta Fort Hotel has recently introduced a new addition to its portfolio of rooms, the Terra Cabins. These cabins have been designed to allow guests to reconnect with nature and explore the inherent beauty of Hatta while being environmentally conscious and practical. The exteriors of the cottages have been uniquely built using natural pine wood treated with a dusk grey wash to blend in with the surrounding Al Hajar mountains. The cozy interiors offer a hotel-like experience using a low-impact, environmentally-friendly approach. The hotel expansion aligns with the continued development and growth of the Hatta region, and JA Resorts and Hotels are committed to making JA Hatta Fort Hotel a leading destination for visitors to this vibrant location. Best of all? The cabins were built using sustainable, cost-effective, and highly customizable building methods.

Specifically, the Terra Cabins were constructed using a 3D modular build approach, reducing construction timelines by 50 percent and costs by 20 percent while maximizing productivity benefits. This approach has also helped JA Hatta Fort Hotel to reduce costs, labor hours, logistics, material transportation, and the overall carbon footprint. Furthermore, Terra Cabins were built using carefully selected materials with increased durability, life cycle, and sustainability, including reusable materials such as steel and timber. The roofs of these cabins are specifically slanted to cater to the future installation of solar panels. The infrastructure allows for regulating air conditioning temperature control while maintaining the indoor climate through an insulation layer underneath the roof.

Deborah Thomson, the General Manager of JA Hatta Fort Hotel, commented on this launch, stating that the Terra Cabins were built with a minimal carbon footprint and a sustainable future, aligned with the United Arab Emirates’ vision for 2023, The Year Of Sustainability. These cabins promise to deliver both on the environmental front and guest satisfaction, with amenities such as natural daylight, scenic views, a mini-bar, a walk-in rain shower, multimedia projectors (available on request), a wardrobe, and an alcove seating area.

Visitors can choose between the regular Terra Cabin and the Deluxe Terra Cabin, accommodating up to four and six guests, including a bunk bed and double bed. The regular Terra Cabins can accommodate four guests, including a bunk bed and double bed. In comparison, the Deluxe Terra Cabins can accommodate six guests and include two bunk beds, a double pull-out bed, and a dedicated patio area. And yes, the cabins are dog friendly -- as is the property.

Sustainability lies at the heart of JA Resorts & Hotels. With lush properties dotted with vast green spaces and flourishing eco-systems unique to each resort across the UAE and the Indian Ocean, the group continually strives to preserve and sustain unique environments and adopt the best sustainable practices to ensure that communities and environments are nurtured, protected, and geared towards a happier and greener tomorrow for the future generation of guests and travelers alike. JA is also the first hospitality brand in the region to install water treatment systems along with cleaning and bottling systems to eliminate environmentally harmful single-use plastics. These facilities are at three Dubai properties, JA the Resort, JA Ocean View Hotel, and JA Hatta Fort Hotel.

Finally, guests can access all facilities at JA Hatta Fort Hotel, including 24-hour in-room dining services, specialty restaurants, and leisure and recreational activities available at the resort. Terra Cabins are the perfect option for families, couples, and friend groups looking for a peaceful and beautiful escape in Hatta.
